Preparation:
1. Prepare the dough:
• Place the quark, sugar, egg, vanilla sugar, baking powder, oil, and milk in a bowl and mix well.
• Gradually add the flour and knead everything into a smooth dough. If the dough is too runny, simply add a little more flour until the consistency is right.
2. Roll out the dough:
• Roll out the finished dough evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the dough isn’t rolled out too thickly so the rolls will be nice and fluffy.
3. Fill:
• Now comes the fun part: Sprinkle cinnamon powder and sugar evenly over the rolled out dough, if desired. If you like, you can also add raisins for even more flavor.
• Carefully roll out the dough to form a nice rope.
4. Cut the rolls:
• Cut the dough into small rolls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
5. Bake:
• Preheat the oven to 200°C fan/convection oven and bake the rolls for about 15 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. The exact baking time may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on the snails and check after 10 minutes to see if they’re nicely browned.
6. Serve:
• After the snails come out of the oven, let them cool briefly and serve them warm. You can sprinkle them with some extra cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar for a finishing touch, if desired.
