Cyril Lignac’s famous meatballs 🥩

Preparation:

1. Prepare the sauce
Preheat the oven to 170 °C. Pour the olive oil into a saucepan and add the chopped onion. Sauté without browning.
Add the chopped tomatoes, thyme, crushed garlic and chopped basil. Simmer for 45 minutes over low heat.

2. Prepare the meatballs
Mix the two types of meat with Parmesan cheese, eggs, ricotta, parsley and well-dried breadcrumbs in a bowl.
Season with salt and pepper and then shape them into meatballs by hand.

3. Cook the meatballs
Drizzle olive oil over a hot frying pan and brown the meatballs on all sides.

4. Finish baking
Place the meatballs in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over them.
Bake for 7 minutes to finish baking.

5. Serve
Serve hot with fresh pasta, rice or toasted bread to soak up the sauce.
