Easy Clove Growing: From Seed to Aromatic Spice

Buy seeds from a supplier specializing in tropical plants.
You can also harvest fresh fruit from an existing clove tree (if you’re lucky enough to have one!) and use them immediately: germination takes just a few days.
Germination Stages
Prepare the seeds: Carefully remove the pulp and let them soak in room-temperature water for 24 hours.
Choose the right soil: a mixture of light soil, perlite, and coconut fiber will ensure good drainage.

Sow carefully: Place each seed about 1 cm deep and keep everything moist (but not soaking wet).

Be patient: Place the pot in a warm place at around 25°C (77°F). Germination usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Repot and care for your young carnation

When a few true leaves appear, it’s time to transplant it to a larger pot or, if the climate allows, directly into the ground.

Watering: Regular but moderate. Standing water can weaken the roots.
Fertilizer: A monthly dose of compost or a balanced liquid fertilizer will be extremely beneficial.
Protection: In winter, move it indoors or into a greenhouse to protect it from the cold.
