Preparation steps
1. Prepare the potatoes
Peel and slice the potatoes into thin slices. Pre-cook them for 10 minutes in boiling salted water (they should remain firm). Drain the water and set aside.
2. Fry the bacon and onion
Fry the bacon without adding any fat in a frying pan. Add the sliced ​​onion and gently soften until lightly browned.
3. Prepare the mixture
Whisk the eggs with the cream in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.
4. Assemble the pie
Line a baking dish with the pie crust and prick the bottom with a fork. Add a layer of potatoes, then the bacon and onion mixture. Pour the egg mixture over and sprinkle with grated cheese.
5. Bake
Bake at 180°C (preheated oven) for 35 to 40 minutes, until the pie is golden brown and tender.
