What if your kitchen was hiding a tropical treasure? This plant, often relegated to the spice rack, could transform your home and your well-being. It’s easy to grow and offers not only a fragrant harvest, but also beautiful
flowers in exotic shades… Interested? Here’s how to turn a simple rhizome into a small aromatic jungle at home.
Choosing the right rhizome, the first key step
It all starts with a plump, fresh piece of ginger with a few “eyes” – those little dots from which future shoots will grow. Avoid pieces that are too dry or wrinkled, and choose organic ginger to ensure lush growth.
Pro tip: Before planting, soak the rhizome in lukewarm water for a day. This will awaken the buds and promote rapid germination. Then cut it into 3-5 cm long sections, each with at least one visible bud.
