I have been using this method almost every day since I learned it from a 70-year-old master.

👨‍🍳Here’s how:
1️⃣ Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a bowl.
2️⃣ Gradually add the water and knead until a smooth dough forms (by hand or with a mixer with a dough hook).
3️⃣ Add the olive oil, knead and cover with a towel. Let rise for 1 hour.
4️⃣ Divide the dough into small portions (like buns), fold them over each other and place them seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
5️⃣ Brush with beaten egg.
6️⃣ Bake at 250°C for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 200°C and bake for another 15 minutes – until golden brown and firm on top.
💥 The result? A crispy crust and a soft middle!
