I Saw This Oven Cleaning Trick and I’ll Never Do Anything Else Again

Start by preheating your oven to around 200°C. The idea is to create a warm environment to effectively convert the water into steam.

Step 3: Prepare the water tray

Fill your ovenproof dish or baking pan with about 2.5 cm of water. If you have a particularly greasy oven, consider adding a cup of vinegar to the water. Vinegar is a natural degreaser and enhances the cleaning power of the steam.

Step 4: Place the dish in the oven

Once the oven is preheated, place the water tray on one of the middle racks. Make sure it is positioned correctly so that it does not spill. Close the oven door and let the water steam for 20 to 30 minutes.

Step 5: Let the steam do its magic

During this time, the steam will circulate throughout the oven, softening any burnt-on food, grease, and grime. The heat and moisture work together to loosen even the most stubborn residue, making it easier to wipe away.
Step 6: Turn off the oven and let it cool slightly
After 20 to 30 minutes, turn off the oven and carefully open the door. Let the oven cool enough so that it is safe to handle. You don’t want to burn yourself, but you also don’t want the oven to get too cold before you start wiping it down.
Step 7: Wipe the inside of the oven
Start wiping the inside of the oven with a soft cloth or sponge. You will notice that the dirt comes off easily without you having to scrub hard. If there are any stubborn stains left, you can use a spatula or scraper to gently remove them. For really stubborn areas, you can dip the cloth in the remaining warm vinegar water for extra cleaning power.
Step 8: Admire Your Clean Oven
Once you’ve wiped down the inside, your oven should look like new. Best of all? You just cleaned your oven without exposing yourself to toxic chemicals, and it probably took half the time compared to traditional methods!
Why Steam Cleaning Is Revolutionary
There are many reasons why steam cleaning has become my preferred method of oven cleaning:
