
Peel and grate the apple, and place it in a bowl.

Add the egg, yogurt, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt – mix everything together.

Add the flour and baking powder, and mix thoroughly with a spoon – a fairly thick batter will form.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or saucepan.

With wet hands, form rolls or use a spoon to scoop out portions of the dough and fry until golden brown on both sides.

Drain on a paper towel and, while still warm, roll in powdered or granulated sugar.
