1. Activate the yeast:
Combine the lukewarm water, sugar, and dry yeast in a large bowl.
Stir gently and let stand for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy.
2. Mix the dough:
Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture.
Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until all the ingredients come together into a sticky dough.
No kneading is necessary! Just make sure everything is well mixed.
3. First dough:
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours or overnight until it has doubled in size and looks bubbly.
4. Shape and second dough:
Lightly flour your hands and a work surface.
Carefully shape the dough into a round loaf.
Place on a floured baking sheet or in a well-floured loaf pan.
Cover and let rise for about 1-2 hours until puffed up.
