Preparation of ingredients:
Add fruit and
chocolate:
Gently stir in the fruit (they can be fresh or frozen, if using frozen you don’t need to defrost them before adding them) and the chopped chocolate, if you choose that option.
Baking:
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until
the cake has risen and the top is lightly golden brown. Use a toothpick to check if the cake is done – the toothpick should come out dry.
Cooling and serving:
Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly for a few minutes. Then place the cake on a wire rack to cool completely. You can dust them with icing sugar before serving for an elegant finish.
