Water frequently and let the soil dry out, but never completely. Too much water can cause root rot.
Christmas cactus thrives in temperatures between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius and average humidity. It may be a good idea to place a container of water under the Christmas cactus pot to increase humidity.
Once the Christmas cactus’s flowering period (usually in the fall) is over, the plant should end its dormant period by reducing watering and light. Make sure the plant gets at least 12 to 14 hours of darkness and a temperature of 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Keep the plant away from heat (such as stoves or radiators) and cold drafts.
